 BLESSING of the ANIMALS
Be they furry or feathered, bring your faithful friends to one of VHS's Blessing of the Animals events, happening this weekend in Pleasanton:
- Saturday, November 17 from 10 am to 12 noon at Millfleur in the Kottinger Barn on Ray St.
- Sunday, November 18 from 1 to 2 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1225 Hopyard Rd.
Please bring pets in carriers or on leash. There is no fee to attend or participate, but donations are encouraged. |

ANNOUNCING JUNIOR VOLUNTEERS!
 Finally, pet-loving young people who don't meet VHS's volunteer age requirement have a program designed just for them! Junior Volunteers is now accepting applications from youth ages 10-15 who wish to make a difference for animals while gaining valuable volunteer experience.
Junior Volunteers will work a Cat Care shift alongside VHS Humane Education team members, feeding and cleaning in Kitty City so that our adoptable animals enjoy their stay at VHS. All training is provided. The cost is $100 per student, which includes one orientation and training date, four volunteer shifts, and a VHS volunteer t-shirt.
Junior Volunteers runs Fridays from 3:30 - 5:30 pm. The first session begins this Friday, November 16 (orientation and training), with volunteers shifts from 3:30 - 5:30 pm on Fridays November 23 & 30 and December 7 & 14.

CALLING ALL CARING KIDS:
YOU CAN HELP THE ANIMALS, TOO!
This time of year we celebrate our thankfulness...for loving families, caring friends, warm homes...all things the cats and dogs of VHS are hoping to find for themselves. Join us Saturday, November 17 from 10 am - 2 pm for Camp of Caring, and find out how you can help the animals be happy until they find their forever homes.
Explore animal care, make gifts for VHS cats and dogs, and discover the many ways even kids can help our homeless cats and dogs. Open to children ages 8-13, camps costs $50 per child. Please bring a bag lunch and be ready for fun.

SHOP BLACK CAT FRIDAY at VHS
Pick up the perfect little black cat during Black Cat Friday, November 23 from 12 noon to 4 pm at VHS. They're always in fashion, never fade, and come in many personalities to suit your lifestyle. Adoption fees will be waived on all black or mostly black cats, with discounted fees for other models. Available in all sizes, while supplies last. Standard adoption criteria apply. SEND THEM HOME FOR the HOLIDAYS
They've got their two front teeth...all the cats and dogs of VHS really want for Christmas is a Home for the Holidays! Find yourself a "warm and fuzzy" to snuggle with this winter, and enjoy reduced adoption fees throughout the month of December.
Adoption fees for adult cats and dogs will be discounted 50%, with 30% off fees for kittens and puppies. Standard adoption criteria apply. Home for the Holidays runs December 1-30 during our normal adoption hours. VHS will be closed on Tuesday, December 25. Everyone deserves a home for the holidays!
