 HELP PETS BEAT the HEAT
THIS SUMMER
Cracked windows are no match for the summer sun...the temperature inside your car can climb to dangerous levels on even a mild day! To protect your pets, leave them at home or take them with you when you get out of the car.
Provide plenty of fresh water, even when you're out and about. At home, cool off hot dogs in a shallow kiddie pool or drop ice cubes into water dishes. Short-haired animals, and those with light-colored fur, are susceptible to sunburn - pick up a sunscreen made especially for pets to help prevent painful burns. Lastly, be sensitive to the surfaces you stroll...hot cement will burn your pet's feet as easily as yours! Enjoy a safe and sunny summer! |

HOME SWEET HOME
There's nothing quite like having a place to call your own...even if you have to wait a little while to find it! Lucy, a VHS rescue, took her sweet time choosing just the right adopter. Not long after going home with the Kelly family, Lucy (now named Bree), discovered a special spot right in her own backyard: a tiny house just her size.
"Some 25 years ago we built a cat house for our beloved Miss White," Mrs. Kelly wrote on our Facebook page. "She has long since passed over the rainbow bridge, but the house remained. [Bree] immediately made it her own." Bree has also learned to walk on leash, and is clearly enjoying her new life!
Send us your adoption tales and pictures! |
