Greetings!
Let's admit it, we all crave a little luxury in our lives from time to time. It's allowed! So let's take a journey through our picks for Wisconsin B&Bs that get luxe right.

Pools and Saunas
|
There's something about a pool that signals you've arrived at your own piece of paradise. Lounge at the private outdoor heated pool Inn at Pine Terrace in Oconomowoc,
then stroll down to Fowler Lake just a short distance from the inn. This cream city brick mansion was built in 1879 as a summer residence and is patterned after a French nobleman's Vienna castle. It's listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has hosted several American presidents. At Ye Olde Manor House in Elkhorn, the heated indoor pool is divine, and the indoor and outdoor Koi ponds are a brilliant touch too. For sauna lovers, try Pinehurst Inn in Bayfield, Enchanted Valley B&B in Cross Plains, or A Victorian Swan On Water in Stevens Point.

Designer Bathrooms
|
A designer spa bathroom is what you'd expect to find at a high-end resort. It's also what you can expect to find at Bay Point Inn in Door County. The hydro whirlpool tubs there combine water, air and heat to wonderful results. After your hydro massage, wrap up in a 30" x 60" bath sheet, then a Kimono-style robe. If a steam shower is on your wish list, check out the Washington House Inn in Cedarburg, the Speckled Hen Inn in Madison, and At the Lake House B&B in Lake Geneva.

Horse Stables
|
For those whose favorite pastime is equestrian in nature, you'll be delighted with these inns that offer horse stables. At September Farms B&B in LaValle, the 400 Trail crosses their driveway, with the horse trail right next to it. Guests' horses may be stabled nearby at the Veterans Equine Therapy program; contact Barb Knof at 608-415-8967 - ask about a tour, too.

Culinary Finds
|
Did you know: There are a dozen Wisconsin B&B inns that actually have restaurants right on premise. Choose from microbrewery inspired bistros, an Irish pub, a Bavarian biergarten, elegant lake-view dining, and tempting pastry shops.

Champagne Toast
|
This pretty little concoction for a Red Mimosa is from Brayton B&B in Oshkosh. Ingredients include: your favorite champagne (need not be expensive according to the innkeepers), orange juice, fresh strawberries, grenadine, cranberry juice and raspberry sherbet. Fill champagne glass a quarter full with champagne. Slice a strawberry and plop it in the champagne and watch the bubbles flow. Pretty already! Then fill almost to the top with orange juice, leaving about half an inch. Finally add a splash of grenadine. If you don't like it sweet, substitute cranberry juice for the OJ. Adding raspberry sherbet makes it a little creamier. All delicious! Click here to view a printer-friendly version. You're unique. Stay that way.
