The Real Life Stories of the Youth Project

The Youth Project is honored to work with so many brave teenagers, willing to share their lives with us.  Each month, we'll bring you firsthand accounts of pain, trauma and hope -- from the teens themselves. Here are a few of their stories.
16 y/o - "The Youth Project staff did a great job on helping me and the rest of our group identify our grief and help us cope with it.  I feel like my group was very respectful and we all listened to each other's struggles.  I will most definitely recommend the TAG program to any student dealing with a loss.  I will miss my grief group very much, but I am happy to say I have made a group of new friends."
17  y /o male -"This is my 3rd year with the Youth Project and I love it.  It is a great way for me to communicate my feelings and practice all the things I have learned."
17 y/o female - "Meeting with my counselor  helped me work out my problems and I felt like she was understanding of my feelings.  It was nice to know that she was there for me. "

15 y/o male - "The Youth Project was a wonderful experience and made me feel so much better about my family and friends and I had someone to talk to and to be my friend and I would love to continue."

16 y/o female - "I think the Youth Project is a great program that all students should know about.  It gives me a safe place to go when I need to talk about something.  It helps me positively filter my emotions. "

17 y/o male - "The boys issues group helped me work on family issues and school issues in a safe environment where students were able to give and get great advice."
14 y/o female - "Being a part of the girls group allowed me to openly talk about my problems and be emotional and break down if I needed to."
The Youth Project is celebrating 13 years of successfully providing free services to teens in the Santa Clarita Valley. Since their doors opened in 2000, the Youth Project has assisted more than 33,000 local families, including 28,000 youth and 6,000 adults.
