Serve DC is proud to welcome its new Executive Director, Jeffrey Richardson, MSW. Jeffrey is a proud AmeriCorps alum who comes to Serve DC from the Mayor's Office of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) Affairs, where he served as Executive Director. "I know that service and volunteerism not only can fill transactional needs in the District of Columbia, but as a city with continually shifting demographics and competing needs, service and volunteerism can build communities. It can unite people across geographic and identity barriers. It can empower and inspire all residents to do their part in making Washington, DC a world class city for all." Jeffrey is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but grew up in Durham, NC. He is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The Howard University School of Social Work and completed his AmeriCorps service with Wediko Children's Services in Windsor, New Hampshire.
