#1 Myth that just won't go away:
'It Takes Years To Adopt"
I spoke to 2 wonderful women this week who both work at major magazines (both in-print and online). Both were adoptive moms. And both stated to me that they were so thankful that they had adopted years ago, as they heard it now takes "6 or 7 years to adopt." Oh, how I wish we could crush that message! This little boy above is Caleb (click on his photo to see listing). Like 75 other boys under age 2 years on RainbowKids, it would take about 14 months for a family to adopt him...at most. Like most of the other boys, he is post-surgery for his special need, which means he is basically healthy. But he will wait....because his real special need is having been born a boy. There are 932 boys on RK right now (many basically healthy after receiving treatment) and 581 girls. Adopt a boy. There's no waiting, they are ready right now. Please also know that every agency has waiting kids who are not listed on RK.....if you have a homestudy, start asking agencies to see these kids. Children are ready for their families.
