Small Business Saturday Nov. 29th
In 2010, American Express founded Small Business Saturday to help businesses get more customers by encouraging people to shop at small businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The single day has grown into a powerful movement, and more people are taking part than ever before. In Fields Corner we'll encourage folks to Shop Small by giving out reusable shopping bags and other freebies! 11am to 2pm
Deck the Windows 2014
You are invited to participate in the 5th Annual Deck the Windows competition! To enter, email fcms@fieldscorner.org before Dec. 3rd to let us know you will be decorating your storefront. Between Dec. 3 - Dec. 7 a panel of guest judges will select the top 3 storefronts in Fields Corner. The 1st place winner advances to Round 2 online voting Dec. 11 - Dec. 15 to select the favorite storefront from 1st place winners all over the city. The Mayor will honor the Grand Prize Winner at their business.
Fields Corner Public Art winner
The winner of the public art competition was announced November 10, 2014 -- Juanjo Novella's 'Freedom Home' was selected to represent Dorchester neighborhood's spirit.
Now the concept has been chosen, more work needs to be done, plus lots of fundraising, to bring it to the fabrication and installation stage. For more information about the Freedom Public Art Project and about how to contribute to the artwork, visit www.vietaid.org or call 617-822-3717.
