Reclamation Seeks Comments on Peer Review of Scientific Information and Assessments Policy
The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking public comment on a draft policy for Peer Review of Scientific Information. It establishes Reclamation's policy for review of scientific information. It is available for review at www.usbr.gov/recman.

Specifically the policy (CMP P14) will:
* Establish a peer review policy for Reclamation,
* Enhance the quality of scientific information disseminated by Reclamation, and
* Increase credibility of decisions to which scientific information contributes.

This draft policy will replace a temporary policy for peer review and scientific information and assessments that has been in place since 2011. It also fulfills the requirements of the Office of Management and Budget Final Information Quality Bulletin for Peer Review and implementation of the Information Quality Act. The Reclamation Manual is used to establish Reclamation requirements, assign program responsibility and establish and document Reclamation methods of doing business. Comments or questions may be directed to Reclamation Science Advisor David A. Raff, Ph.D.. Comments must be received by Reclamation by Sept. 12, 2015.

Unique Program to Drive Water Quality in the Delaware River Watershed
SEPT 15, 2015 | 1pm ET

Speaker: Carol Collier, Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA and  Stephanie Kroll, lead scientist
Join us to learn how over 50 NGOs and other organizations from across PA, NY, NJ, and DE came together to prioritize improving water quality in the Delaware River Watershed through the restoration and protection of priority landscapes. Their approach involves picking eight strategically targeted clusters of sub-watersheds, developing shared plans that align conservation work within those clusters, and measuring the impact of the work on water quality. Additional speakers to be announced closer to presentation date. Q&A to follow. PDH credit available.

An IWRM approach to water resources has been a hallmark of AWRA since our establishment in 1964. In2014, 12 projects were nominated for our annual IWRM Award. The May issue of our Water Resources IMPACT magazine features not only the 2014 AWRA IWRM Award winner - One Water, One Watershed Program from the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority - but also highlights eight of the other projects nominated for the award "in a contest that was almost too close to call," according to selection committee members. The issue is has been opened for public download for a limited time.
