Newsletter for AWRA State Section and Student Chapter Officers
Greetings!

Happy Spring!

What a beautiful and busy time of year! Everything is new and fresh, including National AWRA benefits! AWRA HQ has recently created and launched a webinar series based on the seminal IWRM report written by our Policy Committee and released earlier this year. This series is FREE to all National AWRA members. We are also promoting a national AWRA membership discount exclusively for state section members. Student membership in national AWRA is still only $30. For more information on these fresh new benefits, follow the links or email me with any questions.

I would also like to restate our ongoing desire  to be a better resource for state sections and student chapters. What can AWRAHQ do to make your tasks as a state section or student chapter officer easier? Social media help/training? Website help? Membership solicitation and retention help? Meeting ideas? Other? Email me with your group's specific needs. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Christine McCrehin

AWRA Creates Webinar Series Based on IWRM Case Studies Report

Please pass this information along to your student chapter and state section members. Must be National AWRA member to get free registration. For more information, email Christine McCrehin.

AWRA's seminal report and the basis for this webinar series -- "Case Studies in Integrated Water Resources Management: From Local Stewardship to National Vision "-- explores state, multi-state, and regional efforts to implement IWRM and highlighting its effectiveness at all levels of water management. Citing programs from Oregon, California, Washington, Delaware, Minnesota, Florida and New Mexico, the case studies dispel the mystery behind IWRM by discussing the process of shifting to an IWRM approach and the resulting costs and benefits. Together, the selected set of cases show that IWRM is a powerful and common-sense approach for managing water in the United States.
