AWRA Signs 2013 Streamgage Letters to Congress
AWRA joined 50 other organizations in endorsing and signing the 2013 Streamgage Letters to Congress. The letters urge Congress to support the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to fully implement its design for the National Streamflow Information Program (NSIP) beginning in FY 2014 and to restore the USGS capacity to fully match non-federal cost share investments in the Cooperative Water Program (CWP). Call for AWRA Award Nominations
Do you know an individual or organization that deserves recognition for outstanding work in water resources management or research? AWRA is currently seeking nominations of outstanding individuals and organizations in the water resources profession for the following awards:
For award descriptions, nomination criteria and the nomination form, visit AWRA's Awards page. The Award Nomination Form must be submitted no later than May 3, 2013. All nominations must be submitted electronically.
Call for Richard A. Herbert Memorial Scholarship Applications
AWRA is now accepting applications for the 2013/2014 Herbert Scholarship. All qualifying applicants must be student members of AWRA national, and all applications must be submitted electronically as one document no later than April 22, 2013. Application packets should be submitted electronically to info@awra.org and limited to 5mb in size to ensure delivery.We encourage you to apply!
AWRA Seeks Bloggers!
 Got something to say? Burning issues that you would like to discuss but not sure how you can get your voice out? Write for the AWRA Blog. The AWRA blog is a platform for discussion of current and emerging issues in water resources management and administration. Share your expertise and experience.
The AWRA blog will be posted to the AWRA Facebook, LinkedIn and GovLoop pages and may also be re-posted by other blogs and social media. AWRA membership is encouraged, but not required, so pass this on to colleagues who may be interested. Previous blogging experience is helpful, but also not required. Student and new professional perspectives are encouraged.
The blog is updated regularly so we are looking for several writers to submit content through the end of 2013. Guest writers will be responsible for selecting the topic of choice, however AWRA has a list of possible topics as well.

AWRA's journal is seeking an associate editor for water quality monitoring and one for atmospheric science and hydrometeorology. Position descriptions may be found on AWRA's LinkedIn job discussion board.

National Capital Region Water Resources Symposium: The Past, Present, and Future of Water Resources
On April 5, 2013, the AWRA-NCR Section will host National Capital Region Water Resources Symposium at the University of the District of Columbia. The one-day symposium will bring together experts from governmental agencies, academia, the private sector, and non-profits to present and discuss challenges and opportunities for sustainable management of water resources and infrastructure in the NCR. Advance registration deadline is March 21, 2013.
Save the Date - 2013 Mid-Atlantic Conference!
September 26-27, 2013 - The NJ, PA, DE, Philly Metro and National Capitol Sections of AWRA will host the 2013 Mid-Atlantic Conference (MAC). Call for abstracts now available.
AWRA Colorado to Host Student/Professional Networking Event in addition to Annual Symposium
On the evening of Wednesday March 6th, 2013, AWRA Colorado will host a student networking event with a panel of professionals. Students from universities across Colorado are invited to ask questions of the panel and network with all professionals present. Plan to attend and meet future water resources professionals.
The AWRA Colorado Section Annual Symposium will be Friday April 26th at Mt. Vernon Country Club. This year's program is What are the Odds? Variability and Vulnerability of Colorado's Water Supply. Stay tuned for details! AWRA Philadelphia Section to Host Graduate Student Presentations
