Student Government Association Uniting Student Body
Senior SGA Representatives
Demonstrating Servant Leadership
They meet once a week with the goal of serving fellow students in every grade. PCA's Student Government Association includes representatives from Grades 6th through 12th. SGA Advisor Richard Cox says these students all stepped up wanting to be leaders and make the school a better place.
In determining their vision for the year, SGA Reps decided they wanted to hear directly from the student body.  So, they created a student survey with options including a student mentorship program and a school recycling program.  They are currently reviewing the survey results to form a plan of action.
SGA President Annie Pascutti is grateful for the chance to give back to her school. "I've been at PCA since the 1st grade and to help make a difference and leave a legacy is just a great opportunity."
While Annie has served in SGA for several years, our SGA Vice President is a newcomer to the organization.  Junior Isaiah McGrew felt strongly about why he wanted to get involved. "I felt like I wanted to be a leader and have a positive impact in all aspects of PCA."
We congratulate each of our students selected for SGA and look forward to seeing how God blesses their commitment to our school.

Lower School Art Students "Adopting" Animals
Anna Claire Romine showing her "adopted" dog named Momma
2nd Grade Art Project Combines Painting, Pets, and Prayer
Talk about a heart-warming project.. PCA art teacher Nicole Seitz printed off photos and names of cats and dogs up for adoption on the Charleston Animal Society's website.  2nd grade students chose an animal, captured it in watercolor, then began to pray for the animals by name, that they might find and bless their forever families.
2nd grade teacher Leesa Welch says she and her students love the Adopt-a-Pet Project.  "We have talked
about how God created animals on the sixth day of Creation (Genesis 1:25-25), and that He cares for them. (Psalm 50:10-12; Psalm 147:9).  After only 2 weeks, all of our fur-babies, except two, have been adopted into loving homes. We will continue to pray in class and at home for all our babies to be adopted and to be loved fur-ever!!"
You'll find more pictures of students with their "adopted" pets at the bottom of this newsletter in "Memorable Moments of the Week".

PCA vs. Hilton Head Christian Academy
Our PCA Eagles played hard but
HHCA came out with a 37 - 12 win in Friday night's game. The Eagles scored two touchdowns. Our first points came in the second quarter when Cale Lewis connected with Kevin Iriart on a 5-yard pass. Iriart also took it into the end zone with an 11-yard run during the 3rd quarter.
Assistant Coach Matt Manning says it's unfortunate that we couldn't get a win, but he's proud of the team's effort. "The boys continue to work hard and get better.  Hopefully we'll continue to improve and with four games left in the season, we'll get a win soon."
The next game is this Friday, October 10th at Northwood Academy.
