Traffic shift on US 31 between 103rd and Old Meridian Streets on or after July 10
|
On or after Friday evening, July 10, crews plan to shift traffic on US 31 to the new pavement (outside lanes) between 103rd and Old Meridian streets. Once traffic on US 31 is shifted, construction will begin on the new inside lanes.
Traffic will also be shifted on 106th and 116th streets, and motorists will notice extended left-turning distances to and from US 31. One lane in each direction, plus left-turning lanes will remain open on 106th and 116th streets. While lane configurations will be different in this area, motorists will be able to make all turning movements.
Motorists should note that 126th Street/Carmel Drive is open to traffic, and 131st/Main Street will be re-striped to allow for two lanes eastbound and westbound over US 31 before the traffic shift.
Also, after US 31 traffic is shifted to a new alignment and elevation, crews will be able to safely set beams and continue bridge construction on 111th Street over US 31. See this map for anticipated closures/openings in Carmel.
