|
On Saturday, Sept. 14, crews will begin shifting northbound and southbound US 31 traffic to the newly-constructed southbound side of the roadway between 146th and 156th streets. All traffic on US 31 in this area is expected to be completely shifted by Wednesday, Sept. 18. Overnight lane restrictions on US 31 in this area should be expected on Sept. 14 and Sept. 17, while traffic is shifted. Between Sept. 14 and Sept. 18, motorists are encouraged to use caution in the 151st Street area, as new traffic signals will be activated, and some traffic movements will change. Configuration changes after traffic shifts (see illustration below):- Starting Sept. 17, motorists traveling on 151st Street will not be able to access northbound US 31. Access to northbound US 31 will be available via Greyhound Pass. Access to southbound US 31 will be available from 151st Street via the new collector/distributor ramp on the west side of US 31.
- US 31 will go up and over 156th Street and Union Street/Westfield Boulevard. Direct access to/from US 31 will no longer be available at these locations, as 156th Street and Union Street/Westfield Boulevard will run underneath US 31 as part of the final configuration.
- Access to eastbound Greyhound Pass will be available from northbound US 31, and motorists may turn right from westbound Greyhound Pass onto northbound US 31. Motorists will not be able to turn left from southbound US 31 onto eastbound Greyhound Pass, or turn left from westbound Greyhound Pass onto southbound US 31.
