Free Training Designed for Businesses
Diversity Awareness-Disability Style
Who: Perry Business Owners and Managers
When: December 12, 2012, 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. (Refreshments provided)
Where: Center for Independent Living of Central PA 100 N Second Street, Newport
Invest one hour to meet with a small group of people with various disabilities from Perry County. They will discuss best practices in interaction with and providing service to customers with disabilities.
- It is a venue for business people to ask experts about what may be sensitive or awkward questions about people with disabilities.
- Participants will identify issues they want addressed in order to increase business traffic by people with disabilities.
- Businesses will gain resources about disability awareness/ sensitivity that they can share with their staff.

The project is supported by a grant from the PA Developmental Disabilities Council.

Devil's Den Book Signing
Local mystery writer Don Helin will be at the Perry County Council of the Arts (PCCA) Gallery on Saturday, December 1stfrom 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to sign copies of his latest book, Devil's Den.

Wreath Silent Auction
PCCA is holding a Silent Auction of Wreaths at Landis House, from November 14th to December 14th. The wreath auction will feature an eclectic mix of wreaths created by PCCA artisans, members and staff, and because the wreaths are made out of non-perishable materials they can be enjoyed, not just this year, but for years to come. You can bid on the wreaths at Landis House, which is open Wednesdays and Fridays, from 1 to 5 pm, or call to make an appointment, and all proceeds go to support the PCCA.

PCCA Open House
On Saturday, December 1st, the PCCA will hold an open house at both Landis House and the Gallery to coincide with the NRPS House Tour.
Landis House will be open from 10 am to 4 pm. From 10 am to 3 pm it will serve as a recital hall for Perry County piano students or visitors can view the wreaths up for silent auction. Santa will be at Landis House from 3 to 4 pm. PCCA Gallery will also be open from 10 am to 6 pm, and Don Helin will be on hand to sign copies of his new book Devil's Den. This event is free and open to the public.
