The Newport Revitalization and Preservation Society will host Canal Day on Saturday, Oct 6 from 9 am to 2 pm on the square in Newport.
Newport High School students star the day with a spirited pep rally.
Special Friends and Powerhouse Creative Ministries will entertain the crowd.
Local author Dennis J. Hocker PhD will be signing Towpaths and Aqueducts--The Canals of Perry County at the NRPS stand.  Dennis is graciously donating $10 to NRPS for every book sold. Find out more about this title and other books by Dennis at http://www.perryheritage.com/aqueducts.html
And of course there will be delicious food!

Interesting Chamber fact about this year's
