Energy Star Label Given to Clothes Dryers for First Time

Starting in January, energy efficient clothes dryers will qualify for the Energy Star label. The qualifying dryers will be at least 20% more efficient than those meeting only the minimum requirements.

Energy Star dryers will use one or more of these features: sensors that shut the machines down when the laundry is dry; machines that capture their waste heat and pump it back into their drums; and units that deploy when the price of electricity is below peak.

More information about clothes dryers from the Energy Star website is here

Questions for Grainger's VP

Gail Edgar, Vice President, Global Real Estate & Facilities Services for Grainger will speak at our December 4 meeting. Grainger is an important vendor for many Boston hotels.

Grainger's green product catalog has quadrupled to over 70,000 products in the last four years. So, Gail can talk about a wide range of subjects, and she wants us to narrow it down for her.

Do you have any questions that you would like her to address? If so, please contact me.

Soon, we will be able to program LED's to adjust their light output depending on the number of people in a room.
