The NOVA Open Charitable Foundation was created to give you, the gamers of the world, a banner under which you can come together and demonstrate to the world the generosity and compassionate force that you are.
COMING SOON: CHARITY ARMY RAFFLES!
The Foundation is busy making final preparations for the launch of its first Charity Army Raffles. Show your support for great charitable causes by purchasing raffle tickets to win one of these great prizes:
*1850 Point Dark Angels: Redemption of the Fallen
in support of Doctors Without Borders
Twice before in the past few years, groups of skilled miniature artists have come together to raise money for this cause using their combined talents to raffle armies online. In support of their efforts, the 40K community provided thousands of dollars by purchasing tickets. For 2013, six artists have come together with the Foundation, the NOVA Open, and its sponsors to produce another incredible Charity Army in support of DWB.
*1000 Point Necrons: House of the Silent King
in support of Fisher House
In 2012,
Stiff Neck Studio owner/artist, Wes Cogdal, created and donated a The Great Unclean One and a Legion of the Damned army to the NOVA Open daily raffles. They quickly became the focus of onsite ticket sales that went through the roof! This year, Wes (a Captain in the U.S. Army) is working with the Foundation to create and donate the House of the Silent King army in a raffle he hopes will generously support a charity offering direct assistance to veterans and their families, Fisher House.
*35 Point Khador: The Lightish Red Army
in support of Breast Cancer Research Foundation
Brendon Caulkins is a NOVA Open event coordinator for Warmachine/Hordes. Privateer Press (WM/H parent company) is well known for its charitable support of breast cancer causes. Two years ago, Brendon entered their online charity painting contest ("pink" army required), winning
Best Privateer Press Army and Best Army overall. He believes the WM/H community will step up in support of BCRF once more - and asked the Foundation to place his prize-winning Lightish Red Army up for raffle to prove it!
