Would you like to learn more about designing small distributed solar storage facilities?  The Richmond Section of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) has scheduled Phil Powell, Director, Grid Innovation, Dominion Voltage, Inc. (Alternative Energy Solutions Group at Dominion) to speak to the group on Thursday, 1 November 2012.  The meeting is open to the public. 
The presentation will be centered on the practical design lessons learned on deploying solar storage facilities with Engineers Without Borders on a school and an orphanage in sourthern Uganda.  Phil is also in the process of constructing a similar design for this residence in Chesterfield County. 
In addition there will be a short update on the Dominion filing with the SCC to deploy 33 MW of distributed solar generation in Virginia.

The dinner meeting and program will be held at Roma's Restaurant at 8330 Staples Mill Road starting at 5:30 PM.  Please register for the meeting at www.ieee.org/richmond.
