Hillary gains independence in
Day Support program

When Hillary was just six years old, doctors did not expect her to live past her thirteenth birthday.  Parents Lisa and David began to feel hopeless after she was diagnosed with autism and a host of other severe disabilities - until they found St. Joseph's Villa.  Hillary began in the Villa's Day Support program that year, and she has been coming ever since. Today she is thriving at 22 years old.

ART 180 provides students with fun,
therapeutic outlet for self-expression
Instructors from ART 180 visited our campus each week throughout the fall semester to work with students from Brook Road Academy and Dooley School.  With their help, students had the opportunity to explore their identity and emotions through photography. They had a great time learning different art techniques, while learning about themselves at the same time.

As a capstone of their work, students introduced their projects to a live crowd at ART 180's Open Studies Series. Our young artists did an amazing job!

More work by our students will be on display at ART 180's "Every Color is an Idea" exhibition this month, February 5-26 at Atlas (114 W. Marshall St. in Jackson Ward).  Atlas is open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Snowmaggedon no match for
Villa Facilities Team
Last but not least, we want to commend our dedicated Facilities team for their hard work following Richmond's biggest snowfall since 2000. They were on campus that Saturday and spent several days clearing 82 acres of roads and sidewalks. We thank them for a job well done and for keeping our children and families safe every day of the year!
