Summer Education Opportunities
Adults
WF Students Guatemala Report and Pictures
10:45 a.m. in the Ministry Center
Come hear our WF high school group give us a recap of their trip to Guatemala. Members of the team want the congregation to know how much your support meant to them.

They will share about their experience and how they felt God's presence in this work. They will then open it up to questions from the congregation. This will be the only gathering during the Adult Education hour.
Children and Youth
Nursery and Preschool childcare will be available during the 9:30 a.m. service. 


High School Youth: Meet the 1st and 3rd Sundays during the summer at 10:30 a.m. in the Rotunda and walk to Peet's Coffee where they study "The Controversial Jesus."

Fall Kick-Off

On Sunday, September 13, our two worship times of 8:45 & 11 a.m. resume, as well as our 10 a.m. Adult Education and Sunday School for K-8.

 
Here's what we have planned for Sunday, September 13:


Town Hall Meeting:
 At 10 a.m. Pastor Dave will give a "State of the Church" address.
 

Small Group Sign-Up: There will be an opportunity to sign up for study groups, care groups, fellowship groups, yoga, craft and circle groups.
 

All-Church Picnic: We will serve grilled hamburgers, brats and chicken, Rick's famous corn-on-the-cob and soft-serve ice cream. Please bring a dish (last name A-M, bring a salad or side dish, last names N-Z, bring a dessert). Kids...Come to the picnic and have fun with the bounce house, face painting and games! You will also have the opportunity to sign up for LOGOS at the picnic.

WF Students Kick-Off Road Rally
High School students,the time for this Sunday's Road Rally has been changed to 6-8:15 p.m. Pick-up and drop-off at the Church. Contact Derrick with any questions.
Women's Bible Study
Beginning Tuesday, September 1, Pastor Kyle will be leading the PW/Horizon Bible Study called "Come to the Waters". 

We will meet monthly on the first Tuesday of the month at 10 a.m. in the Living Room. Call the Church Office to order a book ($8)
Abraham's Children Meeting

On Wednesday, September 2, at 7:30 p.m. in Rooms LL 106-107 we will meet to make preparations for the October 17 Abraham's Children event which will focus on supplying medical equipment to Nazareth Hospital in Israel. In the September 2 meeting we will wrap up the mailing of the invitations for this event and will assign responsibilities for other activities like marketing, hospitality and book selling. Music Ministry
Westminster Choir
Rehearsals begin next Thursday, September 3, from 7:30 - 9 p.m. for adults and high school students looking to join the choir. 

Westminster Choir Open House
Come and join us on Thursday, September 17, from 7:30 - 9 p.m. as we have a 30 minute gathering / social (with food), prior to our weekly choir rehearsal that will occur from 8 - 9 p.m. We are in need of additional singers for ALL CHORAL PARTS. We are also looking for additional Sopranos.
 
Celebration Ringers
The Celebration Ringers ring at various church services during the year and practice weekly beginning Thursday, September 3, from 6:30 - 7:25 p.m. Adults and High School students are invited! Contact David Lincoln with any questions.

Inquirers and New Members Class

In September we will offer a two-session class for anyone interested in joining First Presbyterian Church. Childcare is available upon arrangement with the Church Office.

Class dates are Sundays, September 20 & 27,10-10:45 a.m. 
Participants are asked to attend both sessions.

Mark your calendars for LOGOS - an exciting Wednesday night program that includes Bible Study, Worship, Dinner and Recreation.

We meet on Wednesdays from October - March. 
What an excellent opportunity to bring your friends and neighbors and share God's love!

Mission
DuPage PADS Run4Home 5k/10k on September 19
The Mission Outreach Committee has formed a team to run (or walk) and is looking for people to join. Or, you can support the Mission Outreach Committee's fundraising 
efforts. If you have any questions of if you want to join the fundraising team of FPCW runners, please contact Justin Mead.

Food Pantry

For the month of August we will be collecting canned fruit. Bring your donations to the collection areas in either the Rotunda or the Narthex. 

 
In September we will be collecting rice.

Monday Night at the Movies

At 6:30 p.m. in Stewart Hall
Join us this Monday, August 31, for the last of our summer movie nights. 
Donations will be accepted for the Black Mountain Children's Home in North Carolina.
