Amazing World Wildlife Korea & Coway Partnership
Congratulations to our WASH team who have been contracted to assist with the survey and maintenance of 1000 World Wildlife Korea and Coway water wells that have been built over the past 10 years in three different provinces of Cambodia.

This is a great recognition of our comprehensive water well maintenance program, that we have been implementing with our own 1000+ wells. Through our program we have been speedily refurbishing old wells so clean water can flow again.

Back to School!

All students and teachers are back in school after the Khmer New Year holidays. We are starting new improvement projects on school campuses such as a basketball field at Ta Pang school and a new Handwashing station at Kiriminoen school.

New Women's Health & Education Coordinator

We welcome Sovoan Sem as our new WH&E Coordinator. We are excited to have Sovoan as her childhood was spent in the close by village, so she understands the concern and needs of village women. She also has great English and computer skills.

She has been trained by our interim outgoing WHE coordinator, Jaz Mojica, who is returning to the USA for her Master's Degree in Public Health.

Girls Sanitary Kits Distributed

It takes a village of collaborating organizations to do a great job in developing, translating and improving a program to help girls deal with their monthly flow with knowledge and dignity.

Volunteer Aarthi Sekar from Global ADE brought across special absorbent fabric from the USA and we employed a seamstress from Siem Reap to sew the Days for Girls (DFG) reusable, washable sanitary pads. With the added advice and materials from the local Tnai Samrap Srey (DFG in Khmer) group, CCDO team created a menstrual health booklet in Khmer to give to the 8th and 9th grade girls along with the sanitary kits that also contain new underwear and washing powder. Thank you DFG for donating extra kits and for helping thousands of girls all around the world!

4M Group

A big thanks goes out to...

The fans of the 5 member girl Korean Pop Group, 4Minute, wanted to honor their 7th anniversary
with 5 wells dedicated to each of these talented girls. The group's name comes from charming the audience in under 4 minutes. The group is famous for their songs Hot Issue and Hate. They have entertained fans in England, Sweden, Spain, Argentina, Japan & Myanmar. Their YouTube channel has over 1.5M subscribers and over half billion views. We hope even more of their fans will find inspiration in their music and support our cause.

Sheila Harvie from Canada and James Miller from USA, contacted CCDO after their trip to Cambodia a few months ago, looking for a capable water team. They had visited the Kampong Phluk area near Tonle Sap lake where there are no water wells, due to floods 6 months of the year. Our WASH team rose to the challenge and have built a new design that allows the wells to be used in both the wet and dry season. Sheila & James raised a formidable $6,500 in a short period of time and they will soon have all 18 wells built in this area.

Thanks to our long time USA supporter Judy Helder who continues to give yearly to the George Helder Memorial Scholarship Fund with a $500 contribution.

Celebrating our Volunteers

We say goodbye to...

We say a fond goodbye to our sweet Anni Joest, who arrived at CCDO last November from Germany and took on extra duties in the office when we needed to fill-in the gaps when our Program Director left suddenly.

For the past months, Anni has been working diligently on her thesis for her Dutch Windesheim Honors College Masters degree. With the help of her mentor Ksenija Olmer, VP of CCDO, she has produced an outstanding advisory report for the sustainable production of Bamboo Straws as a possible entrepreneurial venture for our older Ta Pang students.
