Teaching Innovation Prize Winner

College of Engineering Professor David Chesney is the winner of the 2016 Provost's Teaching Innovation Prize. For many years, Prof Chesney has encouraged his students to think of social good when developing their projects. Most recently, Chesney co-taught a Software Engineering course where students created touch sensitive coloring books for autism spectrum disorder treatment.

Prof Chesney was the Tauber CoE advisor for the 2015 AIP Serva Group Team and for the 2014 GM Global Purchasing and Supply Chain Team, which captured third place at SPOTLIGHT!

The power of dumpster diving

Chhavi Chaudhry (BSE/MSE-IOE '17) came to U-M for the world-renowned engineering program, where she has been excited to tackle problems in diverse topics such as airline operations, healthcare services, and child psychology.  Now she is working with Dow to reduce supply chain CO2 emissions for her Tauber team project.

But Chhavi's favorite activity combines kids, energy, and dumpster diving.
