Getting to know Satish Subramanian (MSE-IOE '14)
Where did you study before you came to the University of Michigan?

How do you think your experiences at the Tauber Institute for Global Operations will help you in life after graduate school?
I like the Operations courses that the Tauber Institute has to offer, and how the team project experience will help me in my career search. Additionally, I think the Tauber Institute offers great networking opportunities and I know that it will prove to be a huge benefit.
What do you hope to do after graduation?
I would like to either work for a Fortune 500 company in a leadership rotation, or do management or technical consulting. With two semesters left to decide, I am keeping an open mind to everything.
Why the Tauber Institute?
I want to do an MBA at some point, so getting my foot in the door with exposure to business classes and the MBA program will be very helpful. I am already doing an Industrial Operations Engineering degree, so I figured: why not take the extra step and make my education even more beneficial? I have also previously done internships with companies who have spoken very highly of this program, which gave me another reason to consider the Tauber Institute.

More About the Tauber Institute
Aside from the team building exercises part of the Tauber curriculum, (see more photos from our Pit Crew Challenge), students must participate in five facility tours to see how things work "behind the scenes". These facility tours provide a unique experience for students, varying from automotive plants to local breweries. Through exploring these different types of facilities and work environments, students get a glimpse into the real world application of operations.
This past semester alone, Tauber students went on a diverse array of tours. In addition to a medical equipment plant tour, students also toured the Big House to see the inner workings of the famous stadium.
