Celebrating its 40th year, the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) is one of the country's leading business membership organizations. The amount of purchases by NMSDC corporate members from minority businesses has grown from an estimated $86 million in 1972 to more than $100 billion in 2011. The Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce has established a National Advisory Council on Minority Business Enterprise (NACMBE) to provide advice to the Administration on key issues pertaining to the growth and global competitiveness of the nation's minority-owned and operated corporations. These two National organizations are on the forefront of attempts to expand the participation of minority businesses in the global economy.

Mr. Segura leads one of the largest Hispanic-owned technology firms in the U.S.; is a board member of Stanford University's Latino Business Action Network; and also serves with the U.S. Trade Representative on the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations. |
