The Friday Reflection Title
TRANSITIONS

From Canon Kate

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times."

The beginning of the novel, A Tale of Two Cities, by Charles Dickens leads me to reflect on the reality of transitions within our diocese. We have been in transition since before 2007. We have been in what seems to be continuous transition since 2007. We have been, are and continue to be in transition.

At times it seems as if this "transitions" thing seems to be getting old. I can hear some of you now wondering, "When will this transition/court case be finally over?"  I'm sorry, but I don't have an answer for that. Read more.
#Spirit Day- Sunday October 18
I am "writing from the road" to encourage you to deviate from your liturgical practice (in terms of color) on October 18th in order to observe, that is, to give attention, thought and prayer to Spirit Sunday.  Even though Advent is a few days before us, it is appropriate that we use our "purples" to remind us that bullying is wrong, it goes against the Gospel and it is counter to who and how we are Called to be...  Thus, bullying must stop, in particular, it must stop as it is directed to our LGBT sisters and brother.  I encourage you to prayerfully observe Spirit Sunday.

Peace
+ David

O God, protector of your creation,
who keeps watch of its going out and its coming in: Preserve in safety the cyclists and those who travel with them; surround them with your care and protect them from every danger, that they may arrive unharmed to their journey's end. Protect also, those for whom they ride, the victims of human trafficking; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and forever. Amen.
