The Friday Reflection Title

From Canon Kate

Three new visitors showed up at St. John's, Tulare this past Sunday while I was there. It was obvious that the visitors wanted to make St. John's their new church home. They waited patiently to be noticed.

When members of the congregation notice them they were excited to greet them and were also very careful not to approach too quickly or appear too anxious and eager. The members of the congregation were conscious of providing enough space so that the newcomers would not feel overwhelmed. Three parishioners offered to buy the newcomers lunch after church. Tour Against Trafficking News
Support Tour Against Trafficking

Dear Facebook Friends

Here are a few simple yet tangible steps toward changing the world around us, our world.

Firstly, send this link: touragainsttrafficking to each of your Facebook Friends or those on your email list or offer the site address to work mates or school mates and invite them to enter this website.

Secondly, enter the site and by all means read, we need to become far more aware of the reality of Human Trafficking throughout the US and beyond (more to the point, in our own backyards).

And thirdly, please access the Support Box and give, please give generously.  Please give knowing that your donation will make an immediate and direct difference as agencies and organizations address the escalating crime of Human Trafficking, namely, as hope is offered to victims and prevention for possible victims of trafficking.

Please do this because we can change the world around us, our world.

Episcopalians of San Joaquin, I certainly invite you to make donations for the Tour and I hope I will see a growing number of Episcopalians as Riders encouraging sponsorship on the website.  But with equal importance and as sponsors of this Tour, it is extremely important that we make as many people as possible aware of the Tour Against Trafficking and to invite and encourage them to respond..... changing the world around us, our world.

Remember, if we don't ask, others may not be in a position to say "yes."

Blessings
+David

Suzanne Schultz, of the SJC District Attorney's office followed the film "The Trafficked Life" with a power point 911 call..... Read more here

Little Free Library, St. Anne's, Stockton

The people of St. Anne have a new Little Free Library. LFL is a nationwide movement to make books easily accessible to those who can't get to or don't have public libraries available. A LFL can be built from scratch, like ours was, or there are kits for sale on the internet. St. Anne is across the street from an elementary school, so our LFL is stocked with books for preschool - 8th grade, but each LFL can be different.......Read more here.
