WHY DO YOU GIVE TO THE ANNUAL FUND?
Everybody gives for different reasons.  Please take a minute to view this video, put together by 7th grade student Joey Ead, and parent Sara Ead, and then take a minute to think about what it is about Amana that makes you want to support the work we're doing with and for students.

FOOD DONATION DRIVE
Dear Amana Families,

Hi my name is Kristina Leidner-Eisenhardt and I am the Board Chair here at Amana Academy. I am writing to you to ask for your support for a food drive to help benefit those in need from the devastating floods in South Carolina.  I have spent many years in South Carolina visiting family and friends as well as going to the University of South Carolina, don't hold that against me.  I have reached out personally to my dear friends and family and asked how my family could support those that need help in this time of need.  My daughter Alle, who is in 5th grade, said why can't we as a school help out other kids and families with what they need to survive during this time.  I thought what a great example of the Expeditionary Learning Design Principle of Empathy and Caring!
So Alle and I are asking you to help our neighbor's in South Carolina with the following items:

Can tuna, chicken, pasta & soup
Vienna sausage
Mini cereal boxes
Packets of grits & oatmeal
Individual cups of applesauce, fruit & vegetables and Instant mac & cheese.
Granola Bars
Juice boxes
Fruit snacks
Rice Krispy treats
Slim Jims

These items will help feed families and children in need of basic food items during this time.

There will be places in the Lobby of the Elementary school and Middle School for people to drop these items off.  I will then personally take the items and drop them off in District 5 in South Carolina the first week in November.

I thank you in advance for being the loving and helping community that we are and that you have so graciously helped our neighbors in South Carolina!

Sincerely,

Kristina Leidner-Eisenhardt
