Everybody gives for different reasons. Please take a minute to view this video, put together by 7th grade student Joey Ead, and parent Sara Ead, and then take a minute to think about what it is about Amana that makes you want to support the work we're doing with and for students.

 The IXL board has been updated as of Tuesday, October 13, 2015; and its is great to see all the students' names who have made it to the board across all grade levels. Look for your child's name on the IXL board in the main hallway. Please submit certificates at the front desk ONLY when your child reaches 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, and 5000 problems worked out. Students who reach 5,000 problems will be receiving awards in the Honors Ceremony in January. Additionally, students who get their names on the IXL board and will be candidates for a drawing to win an iPad! GOVERNANCE BOARD TOWN HALL MEETING

Join the Amana Academy Governance Board Wednesday evening, October 21, 2015 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM for a Town Hall Meeting.
All meetings of the Amana Board are posted to our website calendar and open to the public unless designated as "executive session" where, by law, the Board must convene in private to discuss land, legal or personnel items.

Join Us for a Q&A Session for the Elementary Arabic Program
Please join the Elementary Grades Arabic Teachers for a Town Hall meeting on Friday, October 16 at 10:00 AM in the Parent Center. Learn about Arabic instruction at Amana in grades K-5, and ask questions about the program.

Box Tops - Here's the current leader-board for our Box Tops contest:
1st place: Ms. Ham (2nd grade) with 356 box tops
2nd place: Ms. Woodard (1st grade) with 323 box tops
3rd place: Ms. Miller (1st grade) with 238 box tops
4th place: Ms. Atkinson (1st grade) with 210 box tops
Please continue submitting your Box Tops. Submissions are due by Thursday, October 22. The top class in the school will receive a party. Send box tops with your child in a clearly marked bag with your child's teacher's name and grade level. For a list of all Box Tops items, go to www.boxtops4education.com. Amana will receive 10 cents for every box top we turn in.
Didn't get to pay your PIE Dues at Open House? - If you didn't get a chance to pay your PIE dues during Open House, you can still do it by filling out the attached form and sending it in with your payment. The 2015-2016 PIE Dues is only $30 per family. Our goal is to reach 100% participation.

CROSS COUNTRY HEADED TO STATE CHAMPIONSHIP |
Amana Academy Cross Country is headed to the state championship. Thid will be there 1st year being apart of this amazing experience. Please come support our team. There is a $2 spectator fee.

School picture forms are due back Thursday October 22. Please return them to front desk if you wish to purchase.
Picture retake is Friday October 23rd. If you would like to have your child's picture retaken please email the front desk at kdavis@amanaacademy.org.

It is our 10 year anniversary! Students may enter a creative drawing for our yearbook cover contest. Submissions will be judged by a panel. There will only be 1 winner! To enter, draw a picture of what you think best represents this theme, our school, and YOU!

Amana Academy will celebrate Red Ribbon Week October 26- 30.
Red Ribbon Week is a week dedicated to educating students about the effects of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. It is a campaign with a mission to lead and support students, families, and communities to be healthy and drug free.
