AIM FOR THE POWER OF STEAM |
On Saturday, September 19, three 7th grade students went the AIM for the Power of STEAM conference at Georgia Tech. They had a great time attending workshops, participating in a DIY Maker Challenge, and testing new technology from Microsoft and other companies.
Jada said it was amazing and motivated her to definitely pursue a STEM career in college. Jessie loved the CDC workshop and
Saudia had fun with the building challenge.

PIE GENERAL BODY MEETING & POTLUCK DINNER |
Join us at the Amana Academy for PIE General Body Meeting and Potluck. PIE will be holding a general body meeting and our fall potluck dinner. PIE will supply drinks, paper products and ice. We ask that our families sign up to bring a dish to share. It's always a courtesy to let us know if your family will not be in attendance or if you will have additional guests. Keep in mind that we ask for no pork or nut products.

We are excited to have Village Photography take portraits of your child on Tuesday October 6, 2015. Students are to dress in uniform this day. We will take class pictures in addition to individuals.
Your child's portrait is something that both of you will cherish for years to come so I encourage you to remind them to bring their best expression.

Amana Academy Student-Led Conferences are scheduled for October 9, 2015. This is an Expeditionary Learning structure that allows dedicated time for students to share academic and character progress with their parents/guardians. Please note: Amana will not hold a regularly scheduled school day on Friday, October 9.
The school will be open for Student-Led Conferences only.

Didn't get to pay your PIE Dues at Open House? - if you didn't get a chance to pay your PIE dues during Open House, you can still do it by filling out the form and sending it in with your payment. The 2015-2016 PIE Dues is only $30 per family. Our goal is to reach 100% participation.
Box Tops - we have kicked off our Box Tops program for this school year. Please submit your Box Tops. Submissions are due by October 9. The top class in the school will receive a party. Send box tops with your child in a clearly marked bag with your child's teacher's name and grade level. For a list of all Box Tops items, go to www.boxtops4education.com . Amana will receive 10 cents for every box top we turn in.

ROSWELL YOUTH DAY PARADE
Get Excited Amana!!! We are Elated to celebrate our 10 Year Anniversary. We are looking for creative Adults and Kids to lend their expertise in creating an eclectic float for the ROSWELL YOUTH DAY PARADE. The Annual Roswell Youth Day parade and Youth Day Festival are the culmination of a week-long recognition of youth. If you would like to be in on this wonderful opportunity using recycled materials, we will be hosting a Hands on Amana Day to build the float on Saturday Sepember 26,2015 @ 11:00am located at Amana.
