In 2014-15 PIE launched its first micro-grant program for educators. Nearly $900 in awards were distributed during the pilot year including:
Kindergarten - $90 - Support for both the spring expedition and math skills through the purchase of two Mason bee houses for the Learning Garden as well as four classroom sets of 60 piece attribute kits.
First Grade Crew - $250 - Scientific equipment to support weather and plant studies including a plant grow station, an oversized classroom thermometer as well as a class set of individual thermometers, and a weather station for the Learning Garden.
Second Grade Crew - $80 - Completion of grade level, individualized math learning kits by restocking individual dry erase markers for each whiteboard kit plus erasers.
Third Grade Crew - $52 - Support for the science and ELA curriculum through the purchase of art materials which will enable better quality illustrations for the grade's anthology book entitled "Digging Deep."
Fourth Grade Crew - $70 - Purchase of a grade level eBook license entitled "Pioneers: A Simulation of Decision Making on a Wagon Train" which supports both the social studies and character development curriculum.
Middle School Combined Crew - $270 - Purchase of two synchronized clock/buzzers for the main hallway to coordinate classroom release times throughout the day and facilitate a smoother transition between classes.
Funds for the Educator Grant Program come from our Indirect Fundraising efforts including but not limited to:

- Family Fun Events
