DADS HANDS-ON AMANA ACTIVITY
On Saturday Dec 27th from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM we need to do some heavy lifting to dispose of bulky items (tires, pallets, bins, etc.) from the detention pond between our building and Wills Park.  This is not an activity for children. Amana Dads, please bring gloves.  The contact person that day will be our maintenance person Ahmed Bamatraf at 404-242-5977.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS!

As we say goodbye to 2014, Amana Academy and our parent organization, PIE, congratulates the following families who have fulfilled their yearly volunteer hours requirement of 10 hours per parent or guardian. I've volunteered often but don't see my name.

Amana thanks ALL families who volunteer. The above list was drawn from our volunteer logging database. We encourage all families to log their volunteer hours, even for volunteer work performed earlier in the year.

I don't care about being recognized. Why should I log my hours?

Demonstrating Amana's strong volunteer participation with actual data helps our school in applying for grants. Please continue to log your hours, even after you've reached your 10-hour requirement.

How do I log my hours?

To log hours, visit AmanaAcademy.org, click on Parents, then Volunteering, and then on Log Your Hours.  Use the form to enter your hours, estimating your hours to the nearest quarter hour.  Also remember that every $10 in donated materials is worth ONE hour of volunteer work.

I mean to log my hours but I always seem to forget.

Take advantage of the tablet installed at Amana's front desk to keep your hours from falling through the cracks. Log an estimate of your hours when you arrive on campus as you sign in. No more forgetting to log your hours after you get home!

How can I get more involved?

There are many ways to volunteer at Amana. If you have any questions about volunteer opportunities please contact Katie Councill, PIE Volunteer Support Coordinator, at katie.councill@gmail.com to be connected with the right person or department.

TIPS ON THE FLU FROM THE CLINIC
It's flu season, and we have had some confirmed cases here at the school.  Although we only have a couple of days left in the semester, Nurse Elliott wanted to share the following tips with you so that all of our families can stay healthy over the break.
