We only need $2500 more to reach our first milestone of $25,000 (this would put us exactly 1/3 of the way there) - and when we get there, Mr. Jaleel has agreed to be duct taped to the wall. As you can see, he's a little nervous, but he knows it's for a great cause.
7th Grade is getting in on the action by sponsoring a weekly bake sale to raise awareness of the Annual Fund. You can find them in the Club Shop every Friday between now and the end of December.

BRING A NOTE FOR YOUR TEACHER DURING THANKFUL TOTES WEEK
|
The week of November 17 - 21 is Thankful Totes Week! Each classroom teacher will have a customized tote in their classroom. Students are asked to bring in personal notes and cards to fill their teachers' tote during the week on as many days as they wish. It's a great time for Students, Parents and Staff to write and share handwritten notes to show appreciation for all the hard work and effort that teachers dedicate to our children.
Specials teachers, support staff, and administration will also have Thankful Totes. Let's remember to appreciate all of them! Staff who do not have a classroom will have their totes placed in the front lobby.
Teachers and staff appreciate small gifts as well! Please give gift cards directly to the recipient rather than placing in the tote.
For questions, contact Shaheen Bharde at shaheenbee@gmail.com or Nathalie Chaudhry at lilnaty73@gmail.com.

BRING A DISH FOR THANKSGIVING TEACHER APPRECIATION LUNCH |
To launch Thankful Totes week, PIE is hosting a Thanksgiving Lunch for our teachers on Friday, November 14 at 1:30. The lunch will be 100% parent-prepared! If you have a special homemade dish you love to share, or you just want to express your gratitude to our teachers for their continued efforts at helping our children love learning, please sign up here.
Here are also a few tips to help ensure everything goes smoothly on November 14:
1. You will drop the food off between 12:30pm and 1pm at a labeled table in the front lobby neat the front desk.
2. Please bring your dish in a disposable dish and a disposable serving spoon. Also add a little sign with the name of the dish and the ingredients to help teachers who may have dietary restrictions (NO PORK dishes please).
3. Email Nathalie Chaudhry at lilnaty73@gmail.com or Shaheen Bharde at shaheenbee@gmail.com if you have any questions.

COME TO OUR NEXT PIE MEETING FOR SURVEY LAUNCH |
PIE, Amana's local parent organization, invites parents to attend next week's meeting on Tuesday, November 11 at 8:15 AM in the Parent Center. The Parent Center is located in Suite 109-A, in between the school main entrance and Satay House restaurant.
We will be launching a survey on PIE programs and activities, and will host a related discussion in order to address ideas in a more collaborative atmosphere. The survey will also be made available online to allow parents to participate who are not able to attend.
For questions, contact Serene Taleb-Agha at pie.amana.secretary@gmail.com.
