DON'T BE LATE!
|
As a reminder, school starts at 7:50 AM for all students. Students entering the front doors after the bell has rung will be marked tardy. Parents of late-arriving elementary school students should accompany their children into the lobby to sign them in. Middle school students may sign themselves in. Students must receive a tardy pass before proceeding to class.
We appreciate your efforts to ensure that your students are at school and in class on time!

PICTURE DAY CLARIFICATION - STUDENTS SHOULD WEAR UNIFORMS |
Flyers for fall picture day came home earlier this week, and there was some misinformation in them (the flyer suggested that students should dress in "colorful clothing" for picture day). Please note that students should be neatly dressed in their school uniform for fall picture day. These are the photos that we will use in the yearbook.
We will offer spring pictures in March, and students may wear non-uniform clothing at that time.
This year we are partnering with Village Photography Group, Inc. Picture day is on Monday, October 6, with a make-up day of Monday, November 3.

IMPORTANT POLICY INFORMATION COMING SOON |
Be on the lookout for upcoming information regarding school policies on student drop off and tardies. You should be receiving a letter via your child's binder.
|
UNCLAIMED LOST AND FOUND ITEMS TO BE DONATED |
Parents, please take a moment this Friday afternoon at dismissal to check the lost and found for any items your child may be missing. We will be donating any unclaimed non-uniform items to North Fulton Community Charities after dismissal on Friday, October 3. Unclaimed uniform items will be donated to the PIE used uniform sale.

Wednesday, October 8th will be a Family Fun Night at Seven Seas Mediterranean Cafe!! From 4 - 7 PM, a percentage of Amana sales will benefit the school. Their food is DELICIOUS and they have fantastic patio dining if the weather is as amazing as it has been!!
Seven Seas is right across from school at 124 Devore Rd.

REPRESENT YOUR FAVORITE COUNTRY AT WORLD DAY |
Amana's annual World Day event is coming up! This year, it will be held on Saturday, October 25th, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. You are warmly invited to represent your country of heritage (or one that you happen to like!) at a booth during the event. We are looking for folks to help with the creation of the booths, collection of materials for it, and staffing the booths during the event. You don't have to own the whole process for a particular booth, just sign up for any part of it that you are excited about.
Sign up here, or contact Laila Swanson at nswan_07@yahoo.com for questions.
World Day is a reincarnation of Amana's traditional International Festival. This year, we are aiming to return to the roots of the event as it existed in the early days of our school. The emphasis will be on sharing the diverse cultures that make up the Amana community. In addition to the country booths, the festival will feature food vendors and local entertainment.

RELAXING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY IN MEDIA CENTER |
The Media Center is in need of regular volunteers who can come in on a weekly, bi-monthly, or even monthly basis to help with re-shelving and ongoing projects. One-time volunteers are needed and welcome too! If you're interested in getting involved please contact the Media Center Crew Parent, Mandy Bush at mandybush@gmail.com to discuss your availability.
Parents volunteering in the 2-3 p.m. time slot will be able to leave with their children from the Media Center and skip the carpool line!
