DON'T BE LATE!
|
As a reminder, school starts at 7:50 AM for all students. Students entering the front doors after the bell has rung will be marked tardy. Parents of late-arriving elementary school students should accompany their children into the lobby to sign them in. Middle school students may sign themselves in. Students must receive a tardy pass before proceeding to class.
We appreciate your efforts to ensure that your students are at school and in class on time!

Annual Fund Fun Fact: Did you know that the Annual Fund plays a part in bridging the gap between the funding we receive from our authorizers (Fulton County Schools and the Georgia Department of Education) and the amount it actually takes to run the school? That gap translates to about $1000 per student. Unrestricted donations to the annual fund, along with grants from corporate and private foundations, allow us to continue to provide a high-quality education for all of our students.

FAMILY DIRECTORY NOW AVAILABLE |
The Amana Family Directory is now available on the Amana website. To access it, please use the following:
Username: amana201415
Password: amana201415
The Amana Family Directory was established to help build a stronger community for our families within the school. We hope that Amana family members will use the directory information to contact each other about campus related activities such as classes, co-curricular and extra-curricular programs as well as off-campus social events.
Students will be listed by homeroom then alphabetically by last name, first name. The information provided is limited and private. Non-Amana individuals do not have access to the directory.

PICTURES NEEDED FOR YEARBOOK |
Parents, the Yearbook Club needs YOUR help! If you take pictures when you are out at Amana events (like Family Fun night or Apple Picking, or a soccer game), please take a moment to upload them to a photo sharing site that our students can then use in the yearbook. Students will also be taking pictures at on-campus events that occur during the school day, but we can never have too many photos to choose from.
To share photos, please go to www.hjeshare.com and enter the code AmanaYearbook201415 (it is case-sensitive). You can then proceed to upload photos from your computer.
Help us capture memories from the 2014-2015 school year! |
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR PARENT CENTER CLEANUP |
Looking for ways to fulfill your 10-hour volunteer requirement? Donate an hour--or two--of your time to help clean the Parent Center. Volunteers will assist with sorting and organizing PIE supplies, arranging items on newly installed shelving, and finishing up with a little light vacuuming and dusting.
If you'd like to help, sign up here, then report to the Parent Center at the designated time. The Parent Center is located in suite 109-A, between the school main entrance and Satay House restaurant.
For questions, contact Sara Ead at saraeadamanapie@gmail.com.

HANDS-ON-AMANA GARDEN CLEAN-UP (PICNIC POSTPONED) |
We've just made volunteering at Amana a little easier! Now, when you come to the front desk to sign in, you'll ALSO be able to log your volunteer hours/donation of supplies and materials. Amana has installed a tablet at the front desk that connects to the volunteer logging web page. No more forgetting to log your hours after you get home!
When you come in, log your hours/donations BEFORE you volunteer. Just estimate how long you plan to volunteer to the nearest quarter hour. As for donations, remember that every $10 in donated materials is worth ONE hour of volunteer work.
If you need help, the front desk staff are always ready to assist!

September's Family Fun activity is APPLE PICKING, an annual Amana tradition. Join us this Saturday, September 20, between 11:00 and 4:00 at B. J. Reece Orchards in Ellijay, GA. The farm is about an hour from Amana. If you buy a $6 bag from Amana you get free admission and can fill the bag with all the apples you can pick! It is an Amana favorite activity and fun for all ages! There are a lot of other activities at the farm like an apple cannon, petting zoo and a wagon ride for a small additional fee.
