New Arrival/Dismissal Carpool Procedures
Dear Amana Families:
Well, the first day's carpool took much longer than any of us would have liked, and we appreciate your patience as we iron out some of the details in how we manage the process. We are confident it will start to flow much smoother and faster in the coming days. Here is how you can help us:
1.
Please review with your child their carpool number.
We know from experience that once students memorize their number, they quickly respond to it when it is called out and shown on the projector screen inside.
2. In the morning, please use the carpool line instead of escorting your child. With as many cars as we have going through the parking lot, it is much safer and more efficient if you use the carpool line. Click here for a flow diagram.
3. In the afternoon, you must loop around the rear of the building if you are picking up both elementary and middle school children, via Satay House and not the front as last year. Also, do not arrive before 3:15 PM, because middle school students are not dismissed until 3:15 PM.
4. Make RIGHT TURNS ONLY when exiting onto Main Street or Roswell Street, so that carpool can keep moving behind you.
Again, we will work on improvements inside to move things along faster. Please CLICK HERE to review update (version 2) of our school's new morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up procedures. The new procedures are a result of detailed discussions with our Administration, our Alpharetta Police Officer, and our property manager. Our primary concerns are your child's safety and the efficiency of movement.
As with every school, the first week's carpool will take longer, yet we know from past experience that carpool time will significantly reduce as people become more familiar with procedures and plan accordingly.
