Even with Saturday's unpredictable weather, our Verizon Fun Walk on March 23rd was a HUGE success! We raised
$13,448 - that is $2,100 more than we raised last year! Way to go, Amana! You can view pictures from the walk by clicking here

Mr. Jaleel, the governing board and I would like to express our sincere thanks to all of the Verizon employees, Amana staff, parents, students, donors and friends who came out to support us on Saturday March 23rd. We could not have done it without you!
With the funds from the Verizon Walk, we have collected a total of
$21,891 for our annual fund. Once we receive the matching funds from Verizon, our total will be $31,891. Your generosity ensures that we can move forward with our first cohort of 10 teachers for TAG (Talented & Gifted endorsement - our goal is that 100% of our teachers be TAG endorsed in the next 3-years, which will benefit student learning to their full potential! We will also begin purchasing the cubbies for lower elementary and additional technology once we receive the matching funds from Verizon.
If you made a pledge to the Verizon Fun Walk and were not able to make it out on Saturday, we will still accept you donation to the Annual Fund. If you have not donated as of yet, I encourage you to make a donation. No amount is too small. If you have already donated and would still like to help, you can also get family and friends to donate by posting the Annual Fund page to your Facebook and Twitter accounts. Coming Up - We have received another matching challenge commitment from the employer of one of the board members for up to $7,500. You will hear more about this challenge after spring break; and if we can meet their challenge we could be looking at achieving nearly $47,000! I know we can raise the remaining amount to reach our $50,000 goal in the next two and a half months by reaching out to families who have not yet participated as well as friends and family!
