Dear Friends,

Christmas 2012 is over, I hope you and yours had a wonderful time. We certainly did. Michael and I want to thank you for your kindness and your gifts of the past year.

Now as we prepare to enter 2013, resolutions for the new year may be on your minds. I've not always written them down for myself, but I have usually set some goals for the new year. Many resolutions or goals are related to health, finances and endeavors, both new and improved. One 'wit' wrote that he hoped his readers were able to stick to their personal resolutions at least twice as long as in years past. He then says, "For many of us that would take us to about March." Ouch !!

I've been thinking though, what if we worked on our New Year's Resolutions together..as a church? What if we prayed and encouraged each other to carry out our shared resolutions? Would the outcomes be better than if we all went our own ways? Probably... there is strength in sharing the work, or in this case the resolution.

And what about our church? Won't you join me in a journey of prayer, presence, gifts, service and witness in 2013? Together, we can center our lives in Christ as we ready ourselves and our church to share God's love.

May the peace of Christ surround you and yours as we move into this new year.
