Whiskeytown Lake Open Water Swim
Sunday, September 13
Whiskeytown Open Water is a 1-mile and 2-mile swim. You may swim one or both events. It is located on beautiful Whiskeytown Lake located just west of Redding, CA. Start and finish are at Brandy Creek Beach and the swim is out and back around an island. It is a great place to bring the family, camp, or just relax. information and registration |
2015 Keller Cove Swim for Kids' Sake
Saturday, September 26
Registration is now open for the 6th Annual Keller Cove Swim, presented by Richmond Plunge Masters. The swim is a fundraiser for the USA swim team in the city of Richmond and features 1/2-mile, 1-mile, and 2-mile events for youth and adult swimmers (wetsuit and non-wetsuit). This is the final event of the 2015 Pacific Masters open water swim season. information online registration

12th Annual Alan Liu Memorial SCM Meet
Sunday, September 27
This meet will be held at Eagle Park Pool, an 8-lane x 25-meter outdoor pool in Mountain View. Swimmers may enter up to five individual events and one of each type of relay. Entries submitted by surface mail must be received by Wednesday, September 23. Online entries must be submitted by 11:59 PDT Thursday, September 24. Hosted by Mountain View Masters.

2015 USMS Speedo 3000/6000-Yard ePostal National Championship
September 15-November 15
Swim 3000 yards or meters and/or 6000 yards or meters in their entirety in any 25-yard or 25-meter pool. Event results are sent in electronically so you can compare yourself to other swimmers doing the same event. Swim first, then enter/register. 2015 Pacific Masters Officer Election

Interested in giving back to Pacific Masters Swimming? Here's a quick summary of positions to be filled in the upcoming officer election, along with their roles and responsibilities:
Responsibilities of all committees
- Surveying participants and/or members, studying and proposing policy, continuous improvement, mentoring.
President/Chairperson
- Responsibilities: Serves as President and CEO of Pacific Masters Swimming, chairs Committee and Executive Committee meetings, and is a signer on the organization's bank account. Schedules Pacific Masters committee meetings and communicates meeting schedule to Committee members and club representatives. Responsible for all Pacific Masters correspondence (which may be delegated), appoints positions such as Hospitality and Scheduling Coordinators, and reviews performance of employees and contractors.
- Member of the Executive Committee.
Vice President of Pool Meets
- Responsibilities: Is Chair of the Pool Meets Committee and directly responsible for its functions, or appoints coordinators to be responsible for specific functions such as meet sanctions, officials, equipment, and pool meet scheduling. (Vice President, Meet Directors, appointed coordinators and interested persons are members of the Pool Meets Committee).
- Member of the Executive Committee.
Vice President of Communications & Technology
- Responsibilities: Is Chair for the Communications and Technology Committee and directly responsible for its functions or appoints coordinators to be responsible for specific functions such as: website and email Update, contractor contracts, coordination with other committees, content, editorial policies, fitness communication (Vice President, webmaster, and interested parties are committee members).
- Member of the Executive Committee.
Vice President of Club & Coach Services
- Responsibilities: Is Chair of the Coaches and Clubs Committee and directly responsible for its functions or appoints coordinators to be responsible for functions such as: Coach clinics, mentoring programs, club support, member clinics, fitness programs. (Vice President, interested coaches and other interested parties are committee members).
- Member of the Executive Committee.
Secretary
- Responsibilities: Taking minutes and distributing them to the Pac Masters Committee and Pacific Masters Executive Committee and ensuring that those minutes are posted on the Pacific Masters website. Also sends minutes of the Annual Meeting to USMS.
- Member of the Executive Committee.
Treasurer
- Responsibilities: periodic financial reporting to Pacific Masters Swimming Committee; reconciles and reviews the reconciliation of the Pacific Masters bank accounts and USMS registration statements on a monthly basis. Sends annual financial statement to USMS. Prepares tax documents and submits on behalf of Pacific Masters. Prepares a budget for approval at the Annual Meeting; that budget shall maintain Pacific Masters reserves at their specified level. Treasurer also approves reimbursements made to Officers.
- Member of the Executive Committee.
