Other Notes of Record

Congratulations to Laura Val, selected for the unprecedented 9th consecutive year as a Swimming World Magazine's Swimmer of the Year. Each year Swimming World picks 6 women and 6 men based solely on the number of FINA world records set during the year. Winners are typically in the first year of a new age group. Laura's 9 year streak means that throughout almost 2 age groups she has continued to break her own records - a feat Masters swimmers recognize as virtually impossible.
