From the Editor
An Experiment in Weekend Meetings
During the next year the Pacific Masters Committee will be considering many items important to the future of the organization including appropriate reserve levels (currently in excess of $300,000), selection of delegates to the next USMS convention, nomination of the next set of officers, modifying the policies governing our competitive events, choosing award recipients and other issues regarding the day to day operation of Pacific Masters Swimming. The organization's leadership would like to increase participation in our deliberations. For many years the Pacific Masters Committee has conducted its meetings on the third Wednesday of the month with in-person meetings conducted in Walnut Creek on odd numbered months and conference calls on even numbered months. As traffic has steadily increased in the Bay Area, the burden of attending the in-person meetings has grown. In order to determine whether participation can be increased with a different schedule, we plan to conduct the next few in person meetings on Saturday mornings following a swim practice. We will also be providing a conference call link to the meetings. Please consider joining us, in person or through the conference call link.
