Greetings!
The United States Masters Swimming Nationals are over. Pacific Masters clubs and individuals swam very well. Swimmers were treated to awesome swims by great swimmers as well as great swims by swimmers whose only goal was to swim well at Nationals.
In the Team Rankings, Pacific Masters Teams were eight of the top ten, with The Olympic Club, Walnut Creek Masters and Davis Aquatic Masters finishing one, two and three.
There were 47 national individual records broken and seven national relay records broken. Twenty-two of the individual records were by PacMaster Swimmers and five of the seven relays records broke were PacMasters Clubs (all The Olympic Club).
Thanks to the Santa Clara Swim Club, Jamie Benes, Meet Director and all the volunteers who worked so hard organizing the meet and thanks to all the meet officials who worked hard for four days officiating.

Open Water
Spring Lake 17 May 2014
The Open Water season opens again with the Spring Lake One Mile and 500m events at Spring Lake in Santa Rosa..
A one-mile loop. Water temp is normally in the mid 60's. There are some weeds. This swim is always very well run; they will have you out of there by 11:00 am, even if you stay for the awards. Parking is easy. Nice green lawn to sit on. Post event snacks provided. [ Registration ]
TriValley Open Water Festival 31 May-1 June
This year, the Lake Del Valle event will start on Saturday with a 5K/10K. The swims will run at the same time. You have to pre-register for the 10K and be able to meet the 3 ½ hour cut off time to swim the event. On Sunday, the 1 K and the 2.5K will be held. If you're new to open water swimming, try the 1k swim. It's run first. For a good workout, do both. There is always plenty of parking. A good place to bring the kids: they have a roped off swimming area. Post event snacks provided

There is a limit of 50 swimmers per clinic so register early. (Because of the low water level, the venue may be changed.) [ Meet Sheet ]
