Thoughts and Prayers
Bill Matson, FINA Vice President

Bill Matson, FINA vice president from New Zealand passed away on Monday in Shanghai, China, He was 72. Bill was in Shanghai working on the FINA World Championships.

Bill was the FINA Bureau liaison to Masters Swimming. He was a strong advocate for Masters swimming to the FINA Bureau. At the 2006 FINA World Masters Championships at Stanford, he represented the FINA Bureau at the Games. He wanted things to be done well for the athletes and he was very fair.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Joan and family.
