2011

2001- 2010

Greetings!

Many of you have heard about the Excel Weekend, focusing on Technique and Heart June 11-12. This weekend is designed for swimmers of all abilities- for the swimmers in lane one to the swimmers in lane eight, there will be a sessions on pool swimming and strokes and a session on open water swimming. You dont have to be a competitive swimmer to profit from the weekend.

I was very very pleased when Cokie Lepinski took on the task of having a weekend where many facets of our sport would be discussed from technique to dry land workouts and that the focus would be on swimmers of all abilities.

Everyone I have met wants to swim better, to swim faster with less energy. The Excell Weekend will allow you to work on your strokes. To have great coaches look at your swimming strokes and how you can work to improve your swimming is a weekend not to be missed.

For those swimmers who want to take it a little further, there there two options for filming. The GST Swim Power test will film and analyze your strokes. The GST Swim Power Test is highly recommended. Why? Because it is an incredible tool for you and your coach. Simply put, it will tell you where in your stroke(s) you lose velocity. Standard underwater filming can tell you if your stroke mechanics are off, but it can't tell you if that is the cause of a slow down or if you can choose to ignore that hitch in your stroke. This is a chance to really work on your mechanics.

The clinic is also bringing on a second film vendor, H20 Video Down Under. This filming is on us. Pacific Masters Swimming is absorbing the expense so you don't.  The H20 filming is standard underwater filming. Like the GST film, you choose whether you want 2 or 4 strokes filmed. With the video you can bring it to your coach to work analyze your strokes.  More details are at  http://pacmastersswimmingexcelweekend.com/clinic-details/filming/ . For the GST, there is an extra fee; for the H2O Down Under, the filming is free, but you must sign up.

The Excell Weekend is a great clinic for swimmers to work on their swimming and dry land training. There will be many coaches so you will receive help just for you. I hope to see you there.

Warmest personal regards
