The Maryland Sustainable Growth Commission met on August 27 and unanimously approved a draft report and recommendations on "Reinvest Maryland" - formerly known as the Infill, Redevelopment, and Revitalization (IRR) Policy.  The Commission also approved several changes proposed by MACo Commission representatives Talbot County Planning Director Sandy Coyman and Harford County Council Member Mary Ann Lisanti. In 2013, University Park Elementary School was the only school in Prince George's county to host a solar power array on their school's roof. This project (completed summer of 2013), marked a significant milestone for the PG county in its efforts and commitment to support renewable energy. Standard Solar, a MACo Silver Partner, worked closely with the Town of University Park and Prince George's County public school to successfully develop this 23 KW solar energy system. (Read more
