WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS

Hello !

null Do you have a backup plan just in case all else fails? Being a former Brownie, Girl Scout and Cadet, and having a father who was a fireman, I guess I have been groomed to think ahead.

When things fail to happen the way we plan, often we fall apart. We don't know what to do next. We haven't thought things through.

Planning for failure may be perceived as pessimistic. Planning JUST IN CASE might land a bit better especially for an optimist like me. I still pack Band-Aids and safety pins in my purse even though I haven't used them for years. But I feel so much better JUST IN CASE.

Did you plan on your blind date being a dud? Did you plan on it raining during your tropical vacation? Did you plan to run out of money in the first 5 minutes at the casino? (Yes, that one is me)

What will you do when all else fails ? Will you be upset that things changed? Will you be resilient and come up with an even better plan? If you plan bigger than you originally, then you will benefit all around.

Where in your life can you set yourself up for Plan B - one that is even better than Plan A? You can have a Plan B to visit an old friend if the party you are going to is boring. If you plan to make loads of money at a workshop and it doesn't, what money making idea will be next? My Plan B was to enjoy a beautiful complimentary dinner at the casino and continue to enjoy my time there.

Use your imagination, use your innovation, use your stamina to get back up and do something bigger, better and more fun than before. Make failing a thing that builds muscle in you, not bitterness . The more failures, the more seasoned of a person you become. It's inevitable, so why breakdown from it when you can grow beyond it.

Here's to failure!

Enthusiastically,

Fran
