ARE YOU A SPONGE OR A ROCK?

Hello !

SPONGE ROCK Life is full of information and wisdom. Often we get inundated with it all where we can't take in another morsel. Seminars, classes, books, videos and we are spent from it all. We love them, but we just can't manage it all.

If you are a sponge when it comes to absorbing information, good for you. Appreciate the time when you are in the receiving mode and get what you can.

For those of you who feel like a rock when it comes to receiving new information - you know, - when one more new idea or technique would take you over the edge, then honor that time as well.

Remember to create balance when you are both in rock phase or sponge phase . It's all an ebb and flow and at some point you will swing to the other side.

When in sponge mode, take time to experience what you are learning. Take breaks when you can and purge what's in your head as often as possible to make room for new information. Find a safe place to purge where you can access all this information if and when you need. Whether in your phone, computer or a physical file, getting it out of your head will help the sponge mode last much longer.

When in Rock mode, the most important thing is to rest your brain. Do something mindless once in awhile, don't force more if you are full. There is nothing out there today that will not be out there in a few months. You won't miss out on as much as you may think. Rock phase is an indicator that you need to live the distinctions you have learned, not learn more. I had a teacher who would give us time off from a weekly class to go out and experience what we were taught. It was a great gift and taught me to create balance within my own mind and to honor mental down time as necessary and valid.

Are you a sponge or a rock today? Whether you are an information junkie or resist new data, respect where you are. Either mode is OK. Just take time to be with it and not make it wrong or rush the process. Don't force more information in any mode. Pace yourself for more sustainability.

Learn at your pace .

Enthusiastically,

Fran
