MARKING YOUR TERRITORY

Hello there !

KEEP OUT WELCOME I saw a car commercial years back that really had me laugh. A person saw a car they loved in the lot and to mark it as theirs, they ran up to it and licked the door knob. Strange I know, but you GOT that this was about declaring territory and they were going to make sure it remained that way.

We all know that animals mark their territory wherever they go. When it comes to your territory , how do you mark it? What I mean is, do you protect it to the point where it's what you spend loads of energy doing? Or do you trust that your territory is fine where it is?

Years ago, I created a system for my Real Estate team that had my business SOAR to the top 6% of the company in the world. I found it interesting how many people wanted to know about it and duplicate it. I actually found it complimentary and not invasive.

I decided at that time that I was not going to protect this system and that I was going to share it with all that asked. Many benefited. There were those however, who were beside themselves that I would share such secrets. As if those were the only ideas I would ever have in my life. I would tell them that I shared what I knew so I could make room for new information. And I always got new improved information, the more I shared.

So how do you mark your territory ?  Do you mark it KEEP OUT or does it say VISITORS WELCOME? It's not as important how you mark it as how you feel about it. Does it isolate you, stress you or exhaust you while protecting it? Then maybe there is another way, one that allows for more emotional freedom. Consider loosening up the restraints a bit and trusting the process.

Here's to the ease of letting go
