Hello !
I learned in a Real Estate class many years ago, the significance of completing your circles. A circle being a particular chore or project.
I don't know about you , but that is one of the hardest things for me because somewhere in time, someone told me that multitasking was an honorable talent. I am VERY talented then. I get so distracted when I start one project and then a simple thing will throw me off course to another project, then another and so on and so on. Can you relate? Then at the end of the day you find you have several incomplete projects (probably more than you started out with) and the feeling is awful.
Completing your circles before moving on to do anything else would eliminate your having to start over again when you return. We might think we just have to go back to where we left off, but no , we actually we have to regress a bit to gather ourselves again. There is so much time wasted doing this. If we completed a circle, then started and completed another circle, we would not only relieve stress and anxiety, we would build self-esteem due to the feeling of accomplishment AND we would actually make headway in whatever it is we have to do.
So next time when you are cleaning your office , resist the desire to carry the trash out to the dumpster until you are completely done. If you are anything like me, you will resist doing this at some level. Try it once and see what happens. If this doesn't feel right or make sense at the end of the day, you can always go back to the honorable multitasking role.
Happy Completion Day
Enthusiastically,
Fran
