What is your light bulb moment  ?              

 

I am attaching a video which depicts a poignant scene from one of my favorite movies The Miracle Worker, the 1962 story about Helen Keller. This scene is where the light bulb finally goes off for her and she realizes the meaning of everything she's been taught and now has access to language and life itself. It's not only emotional and significant, but it's very personal.

 

How many of us go through life with a message that we know is true. It gnaws at us or repeats itself in more than a thousand scenarios. It may be to slow down, or life shouldn't be so hard or this is the secret to joy. We continue to pummel forward thinking that answer is too simple or NOT IT and we continue on the path of resisting it and looking for something else.

 

Some of us are given our light bulb moment starting with a gentle nudge leading to a push and possibly ending with a Mack truck hitting us before we get it. We don't have to wait for the Mack truck. Look for your potential light bulb moment and even if you are not ready to take full ownership of it, say yes to it. Acknowledge that it's there for you and agree that you will move toward it. Say yes to the inspirations, lessons and messages that you receive and start having more life changing light bulb moments for yourself.
