The Wonderful Things Video Can Do For You
April, 2013
Greetings!

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video segment is worth a million. Video production has become increasingly accessible to companies with smaller marketing budgets, and distribution, through online venues such as YouTube, is free. In addition, because of the way Google prioritizes search results, video can help boost your company to the top of the returns, putting your organization in front of more potential clients.
Tell Your Story

Tripepi Smith video production services help clients tell their stories in a compelling, efficient and repeatable fashion that yields strong value in their marketing efforts. Our focus is on delivering 80% of CNN's quality at 20% of the price.

The Meet Your City Manager Video Series

The California City Management Foundation has engaged Tripepi Smith to provide video production services for the 2013 "Meet Your City Manager" video series. The foundation highlighted twenty city managers from across California in its ground-breaking series in 2012 and has engaged Tripepi Smith for continued production. The 2013 series will expand on the subject areas covered previously and bring an additional twenty city managers to the roster of participants.

"We got a lot of positive feedback from members last year about the series," said Wade McKinney, President of CCMF and City Manager of Atascadero. "CCMF is dedicated to telling the story of city managers and supporting them, both personally and professionally. This innovative series is just one of many ways we are fulfilling our mission. Tripepi Smith has been a good partner on this project, so it only made sense to bring them back again for round two." Read more...

Video To Boost You Up Google's Search Results

Since Google started giving Universal results, video is 50 times more likely to appear on the first page of results for any given search (bumping other text-heavy returns down to the second page). Additionally, the results page will show a frame of the video, embedding the image in the page, which draws the eye.

Considering that questions typed into Google tend to turn up videos the most frequently, think about what questions your customers or clients might want answered. For instance, a career counselor might want to create a video titled "How to find your next great job."  A new city manager might wonder "How do I build trust with my city council?" Read more...
Seven Tips For Interviewing Well

The beauty of promotional video is that it is highly controlled. In contrast to live news reporting or third party interviews, when your company creates its own content, you and your team will have time to prepare, and the ability to fix anything that isn't working.

If you find yourself preparing to step in front of the camera, here are a few simple tips to help you make the most of the experience:
  • Wear dark browns and blues in classic cuts. Avoid pure white or black as they can make you look washed out. Bright red or patterns can show up poorly on video. Women should keep jewelry simple. It also never hurts to have a backup outfit in the car in case you spill your coffee.
  • Don't let mistakes throw you. If you realize you've talked yourself into a hole, finish what you're saying, and then simply ask if you can answer the question again. Read more...
Here at Tripepi Smith, we are excited about video content, and the ways in which it is revolutionizing the online world. It is the perfect confluence of marketing, technology and public affairs - a niche we know a little something about.

Sincerely,
